SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. -- Margaret Hughes (SO, Mendota Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) shot a two-day total of 197, leading the Augsburg College women's golf team at the College of St. Benedict Fall Classic, held Saturday and Sunday at the Wapicada Golf Club.

Hughes opened with a first-round 96, and followed with a second-day 101, finishing in a tie for 13th place in the four-team, 26-player event. As a team, Augsburg finished third at the meet iwth a two-day total of 824 (416-408).

Kelli Linton (FY, Keiter, Ore./McNary HS) shot 204 (104-100) to place 17th for the Auggies, while Courtney Barthel (FY, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) shot 207 (107-100) to place 19th.

Ashley Lindemann (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo South HS) shot 216 (109-107) and McKay Karl (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn.) shot 237 (119-118). Competing as an individual, Emilee Howe (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) shot 214 (110-104).

Augsburg closes the fall half of the 2011-12 season this Saturday to Monday (10/1-3) at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, to be held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
