Earlier on Saturday, Hilgendorf swam a 58.27-second time in the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle, a time that is now third-best in school history in the event. Also in the preliminaries,

In the 200-yard backstroke,

Another school record fell by the wayside for Augsburg, as the Auggies' 800-yard freestyle relay squad of
Maggie Royce (FY, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS),
Abby Novak (JR, Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East HS),
Kelsey Hlavac (SO, Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley HS) and

Royce also claimed three other milestone times on Thursday. Two of her split times in the 800-yard freestyle relay finished among the top 10 times in school history in their distances -- a 100-yard split of 59.73 seconds is the eighth-fastest time, and her 2:06.98 split over 200 meters is the second-fastest time. Her prelim time of 2:07.87 in the 200-yard freestyle competition is the third-fastest time in the event in school history.
Hilgendorf also set a milestone time in the 200-yard freestyle, as her 2:10.84 time is the eighth-fastest time in the event in school history. Hlavac swam a 2:15.41 time for the Auggies in the event on Friday.
A day after a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.04) was set by

Thursday, Feb. 16
Thursday's action for the Auggies was highlighted by a new school record set by
Elianna Bier (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) in the 100-yard backstroke. Her first leg of Thursday's 400-yard medley relay was in 1:09.04, breaking the old record of 1:09.98, set by Liz Wiggen in the 2006 MIAC Championships.
Elizabeth Hilgendorf (FY, Tomahawk, Wis.) produced the second-fastest time in school history in the 50-yard freestyle, a 26.25-second effort, in the preliminaries. Her time fell just short of the school record, a 25.98-second effort set by Stefanie Sanders in the 2007 MIAC Championships. The time also reflected nearly a full second improvement off Hilgendorf's previous personal-best 27.12 second time.
Abby Novak (JR, Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East HS) also swam a season-best time of 27.92 seconds in the event.
Augsburg's

Augsburg's two relays also produced school milestone times. The 200-yard freestyle relay of Royce, Novak, Hlavac and Hilgendorf finished in 1:49.96, a more than two-second improvement off their previous season-best time and the third-fastest time in the event in school history.
The 400-yard medley relay of Bier, Hilgendorf,
Kayla Mitchell (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Insight School of Minnesota) and Royce produced the second-fastest time in school history with a 4:35.05, ninth-place finish. The time was a more-than 10-second improvement over their previous season-best time. The time fell short of the school record, a 4:32.58 time set at the 2005 MIAC Championships.
As a team, Augsburg stands in 10th place with 30 points through the first day of competition.
