2018-19 MIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University guard Tamira McLemore
(JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. It's the second time she has earned the honor in her Auggie career.
McLemore had an impressive week for Augsburg, as the Auggies claimed two wins to improve to 6-1 on the season. On Wednesday, she scored a season-high 25 points, to go along with nine rebounds and an assist, as Augsburg claimed a 70-68 win over Bethel
in its MIAC-opener, snapping a four-game losing streak in the series to the Royals. On Saturday, McLemore scored 13 points with four rebounds and an assist in just 20 minutes, as the Auggies dominated in a 71-49 nonconference win at St. Scholastica
. She connected on three 3-pointers in each game, extending her streak of connecting on a three-pointer to 27 straight games.
On the season, McLemore is averaging a team-best 14.7 points per-game, tied for seventh among MIAC players
. She has connected on 17 three-pointers, tied for third-most among MIAC players, and her 5.3 rebounds per-game average is second-best on her squad.
Augsburg has a pair of games this week, playing at Hamline on Wednesday (12/5) at 7 p.m. and hosting Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday (12/8) at 1 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
