Assistant Coach Jen Bowman (Minnesota ‘04) is in her first season on the Auggie coaching staff.
In her collegiate volleyball days, she competed at Northern Illinois (2000-01), Long Beach State (2002) and Minnesota (2004). At Northern Illinois, Bowman was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Year in 2001, earning all-conference honors in 2001 and honorable-mention all-conference honors in 2000. She was an all-region selection in 2001, while being named both MAC Freshman of the Year and AVCA Mideast Region Freshman of the Year in 2000, when she set a Northern Illinois single-season record for assists.
At Minnesota, she was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2004 and was a part of the Gophers’ squad that finished as national runners-up. Bowman continued her volleyball career on the professional beach circuit, competing on the AVP?tour in 10 events in 2006 and 2007.
