Jessica Rinehart (Hillsdale '00) is entering her fifth season as Augsburg's head volleyball coach in 2009. She also serves as an instructor in Augsburg's health and physical education department.
Augsburg Coaching Highlights:
2008 – Posted a 17-12 overall record, tied most team wins since 1998 season (17-11 overall); tied for sixth in the Conference; third consecutive double-digit win season, fourth consecutive season with increased winning percentage, claimed four consecutive five-set victories over MIAC opponents, qualified for the MIAC-IIAC Border Battle for the first time in school history, claimed a thrilling five-set victory over conference rival St. Olaf, snapping a 31-match losing streak to the Oles which dated to Sept. 25, 1989, earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award with a 3.4 team GPA.
2007 – Posted a 13-16 overall record, second consecutive double-digit win season.
Rinehart has coached four All-MIAC Players, three All-MIAC Sportsmanship winners, 16 Academic All-MIAC award winners and one ESPN the magazine Academic All-District award winner.
Previous Coaching Experience:
Head Coach – Morningside College, 2003-04 – career record 47-30 (.610), school's first ever Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament berth, top-10 regional ranking.
Graduate Asst. Coach – Central Michigan University, 2001-02
Asst. Coach – Hillsdale College, 2000
Head coach - Junior Olympic elite-level club teams in Nebraska/Iowa (Nebraska Elite) and central Michigan (Valley Volleyball). She currently also serves as head coach for the Club Tonka 17-Black junior team.
Playing Experience/Achievements:
As a player at Hillsdale, an NCAA Division II team in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Rinehart was a three-year starter at outside hitter, earning GLIAC All-Academic Team honors her final three seasons.
A native of Red Oak, Iowa, Rinehart earned all-conference, Southwest Iowa Volleyball Athlete of the Year and Class 2A All-State first-team honors her senior season (1995), as Red Oak earned its first-ever state tournament appearance and reached the state semifinals. In 2007, she was inducted into the Red Oak High School Hall of Fame.

Personal/Family Notes:
Rinehart earned her bachelor's degree in speech and theatre from Hillsdale in 2000, graduating cum laude. She earned her master's degree in physical education/athletic administration from Central Michigan in 2004, graduating cum laude. Rinehart and her husband Mark reside in Burnsville and are expecting their first child in October.
