MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College men's hockey players
Rory Vesel (SR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) and
Nate Flynn (JR, Hastings, Minn.) were named to the American Hockey Coaches Association/CCM Hockey Divisions II-III Men's Hockey All-America Team on Thursday, Vesel as a first-team defender and Flynn as a second-team forward from the West Region. In addition, Vesel was named to the U.S. College Hockey Online Division III All-USCHO Team as a third-team defender.
The duo bring the total of Augsburg men's hockey players awarded AHCA All-American honors to 36 in program history, including seven under 11th-year head coach
Chris Brown. It's the seventh time that Augsburg has had two or more All-Americans named in the same season. Both Vesel and Flynn earned
All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors this season, both for the second year in a row.

Vesel recorded a power-play goal, along with a team-best 18 assists, for 19 points this season. His 18 assists were tied for third-most among all
MIAC players in overall statistics, and second-most among MIAC defenders. His 19 points were third-most among MIAC defenders.
He had a point in 13 of his 28 games, including a four-assist performance in Augsburg's 8-4 win over Wisconsin-Superior on Nov. 3. In his 106-game Augsburg career, he finished with 13 goals and 44 assists for 57 points. He was a team assistant captain this season.

For the second straight year, Flynn led the Auggies in scoring, with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, including two power-play goals and three game-winning goals. He finished the season second among MIAC players in overall points, tied for third in goals and tied for ninth in assists.
He recorded a goal or assist in 19 of his 26 games this season, including nine multi-point games. He finished the season on a seven-game point streak, with three goals and eight assists for 11 points in the span. In his 80-game career for the Auggies, he has 39 goals and 31 assists for 70 career points.
Augsburg repeated as MIAC playoff titlists this season, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament. The Auggies finished the season 17-5-6 overall, 9-2-5 in MIAC play, reaching the NCAA playoff quarterfinals for the second straight year.

A total of 30 players were chosen -- three teams from the East Region and two teams from the West Region.
