Jarred Sampson (Hamline '00) is the interim head coach for the Augsburg College men's and women's track and field programs. Sampson worked as men's and women's track and field assistant coach with Augsburg during the 2012-2013 season before taking his role as interim head coach. During his time at Augsburg, his athletes have achieved 17 All-MIAC performances, eight MIAC championships, three NCAA DIII national qualifiers and two NCAA DIII All-Americans while breaking 14 school records. He also serves the College working with athletic concessions and merchandise. 

Prior to joining Augsburg, Sampson served as head coach for the men's and women's Division II Concordia-St. Paul track and field programs for seven seasons, while also serving as an assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country programs and adjunct professor in the kinesiology department. From 2003-05, he was the head coach for boys' and girls' cross country and co-head coach for boys' and girls' track and field at Como Park High School in St. Paul, where he also taught community education classes. Earlier in his career, Sampson was an assistant coach at Edina and Orono high schools.

At Concordia-St. Paul, Sampson coached 31 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champions, one NCAA Division II national championships automatic qualifier and 38 NCAA national championship provisional qualifiers. Athletes he coached broke school records 122 times during his seven seasons. Academically, his teams earned United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors nine times (seven women, two men), 11 USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors and one Capital One Academic All-America first-team honor.

At Como Park, Sampson was named St. Paul City Conference Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2005 and the conference's Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2003. Sampson is a USA Track and Field Level I and Level II jumps and combined events certified coach, and is a USA Weightlifting certified club coach.

Sampson earned his bachelor's degree in anthropology with minors in elementary education and coaching from Hamline University in 2000. He is currently working towards a M.Ed. in Applied Kinesiology – Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Minnesota. Sampson was a member of the Pipers' track and field team from 1996-2000, earning All-MIAC honorable-mention honors in 1998 in the 1,600-meter relay.
