BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Scot Dickson (Fr., North Vancouver, B.C.) scored the game-winning goal at 12:19 of the second period and Derek Stuart (Fr., Calgary, Alberta) added an insurance goal in the third as Bemidji State posted a 3-1 victory over visiting Augsburg College.
Marc Lafleur (Sr., Hearst, Ont.) started the scoring with a first-period, unassisted goal. The Auggies', who made it to the NCAA Division III Final Four a year ago, picked up a goal from Tony Putt (So., Burnsville, Minn.) 59 seconds into the second period to tie the game. The Auggies looked to take the lead later that period when Putt skated in for a break away but Adam Pavlatos (Jr., Duluth, Minn.) made a pad save. Dickson scored what proved to be the game-winner minutes later.
Pavlatos picked up 25 saves as he boosted his save percentage to .914 for the season. The Beavers are now 9-4 overall. Augsburg goalie
Ryan McIntosh (So., Calgary, Alberta/Bishop Grandin HS) made 34 saves in a losing effort. Augsburg, now 6-2-2 overall, continue its string of games against Division I opponents with a two-game series at Air Force Academy Jan. 8-9 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
