MIAC Women's Basketball -- St. Thomas 88, Augsburg 51

ST. PAUL, Minn. (1/5/00) -- Senior forward Molly Hayden had 19 points and seven rebounds as host St. Thomas (7-1, 5-0) remained atop the MIAC women's basketball standings with a victory over visiting Augsburg (1-7, 1-4) Wednesday night.
The Toms, who won their sixth in a row, broke to leads of 31-2, 42-11 at halftime and 52-11 before the Auggies caught fire. Augsburg sank eight three-pointers in a 40-point second half.
Rachael Eckholm had 12 points and six rebounds off the bench to lead the Auggies.
Missy Pederson and Mary Thomes each scored 13 points for the Toms, who shot 52 percent from the field.
In beating the Auggies for the 29th time in a row, the Toms also improved their all-time women's record at Schoenecker Arena to 200-22. UST has won 61 of its last 63 home games.
