MINNEAPOLIS (12/2/00) --
Amber Nadreau (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian HS) scored two third-period goals to lift host Augsburg College to a 3-1 victory over the College of St. Benedict in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game Saturday afternoon at Augsburg Ice Arena.
With the victory, Augsburg completes the weekend sweep of St. Benedict and improves to 3-3 overall, 2-2 in conference play. St. Benedict drops to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Augsburg rallied from an early deficit to tie the game in the first period, before Nadreau's two scoring tallies, coming in a three-minute span early in the third period, gave the Auggies the victory.
April Leger (Jr., Austin, Minn.) scored for the Auggies at the 11:52 mark of the first period.
Angie Rieger (Sr., Courtland, Minn./New Ulm Public HS) had two assists for the Auggies.
Sarah Ladd (Fr., Anchorage, Alaska/Robert Service HS) had the lone goal for the Blazers, a shorthanded tally at the 2:56 mark of the first period.
Katie Fedoryk (Fr., Austin, Minn.) picked up her first collegiate victory in goal for the Auggies, making 31 saves. Kate Hall (Fr., Calgary, Alberta/Dr. E.P. Scarlett HS) made 33 saves in a losing effort for the Blazers.
Augsburg faces St. Mary's in a two-game MIAC series next weekend, Saturday (12/9) at 2:05 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena and Sunday (12/10) at 2:05 p.m. at the SMU Ice Arena in Winona, Minn. St. Benedict faces Gustavus in a Saturday-Sunday MIAC series, Saturday at Gustavus at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Benedict.
