Game Summary:
ST. PAUL, Minn. (2/19/00) -- Andrea Jurgens (Jr., Owatonna, Minn.) scored 18 points, pulled down five rebounds, dished out four assists and claimed three steals to lead Hamline University to a 69-64 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Hamline's Hutton Arena.
Hamline improves to 7-16 overall and 7-13 in the MIAC with the win, while Augsburg drops to 6-17 overall and 6-14 in the MIAC.
Jurgens, who hit three 3-pointers, was one of four Pipers to score in double figures. Sarah Wishard (So, Somerset, Wis.) had 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots, Stacey Thill (So., Parkville, Mo.) had 11 points and Chanteil Walter (Sr., Monticello, Minn.) had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Jaime Kingsley (Jr., Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) led all scorers with 24 points and nine rebounds.
Jodi Soule (Sr., Cannon Falls, Minn.) had 11 points.
Liz Meskan (Jr., New Prague, Minn.) had nine points and eight steals, and
Rachael Ekholm (So., Richfield, Minn.) had seven points. She also had one 3-pointer, giving her 49 on the season. The total ties a single-season school record, previously set by Tara Oseland in 1996-97.
Augsburg plays at Hamline on Wednesday (2/23), while Hamline hosts Concordia-Moorhead. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
