ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (9/20/00) -- Libby Homan (Fr., Redwood Falls, Minn./Redwood Valley HS) led all players with 24 kills, guiing the host College of St. Benedict to a 3-1 match victory over Augsbug College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's volleyball match Wednesday night at Claire Lynch Hall.
Game scores were 15-5, 7-15, 15-13, 15-11 in favor of St. Benedict. St. Benedict improves to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while Augsburg drops to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC.
KellyAnderson (Jr., St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) added 13 kills, hitting .433 with no errors in 30 attempts. Jody Barrett (Sr., Annandale, Minn.) had 10 kills and a team-high 15 digs. Carrie Otis (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) had seven blocks, while Alissa Rath (Sr., Winthrop, Minn./G-F-W HS) had six blocks (one solo). Marie Liekhus (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret HS) had 48 assists and 11 digs.
Augsburg was paced by
Angie Rieger (Sr., Courtland, Minn./New Ulm Public HS), who had 22 kills, eight digs and four blocks (one solo).
