COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (9/26/00) -- Ross Golla (Sr., Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) scored the first three goals of the game Tuesday, leading St. John's University to an 8-0 home triumph over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer contest.
Golla's three goals came in the first 24 minutes of the first half, as the Johnnies built an insurmountable 5-0 halftime advantage.
St. John's is now 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC, while Augsburg drops to 3-7 overall and 0-3 in the MIAC. The Auggies have dropped four games in a row, all by shutouts, and have allowed 17 goals in the last four games.
Dusty Johnson (So., Bloomington, Minn.) had two goals and an assist in the contest.
Augsburg plays at St. Thomas on Saturday (9/30) at 1 p.m., while St. John's plays at Gustavus Saturday at 3 p.m.
