Women's Soccer 9/27/00 -- St. Benedict 2, Augsburg 0
MINNEAPOLIS (9/27/00) -- Taylor Hilker (Fr., White Bear Lake, Minn./Minnehaha Academy) and Emily Kelsey (So., Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored unassisted goals to lead the College of St. Benedict to a 2-0 victory over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game Wednesday night at Augsburg's Anderson-Nelson Field.
The Blazers improve to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAC. Augsburg drops to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC, breaking a two-game losing streak. Five of the Blazers' six victories this season have been by shutouts.
Hilker put the Blazers on the board in the 22nd minute, sprinting through the Auggie defense and firing a shot from 10 yards out. Kelsey scored in the 54th minute, shooting a ball from 30 yards out that dribbled past Auggie goalkeeper

St. Benedict outshot Augsburg by a 26-2 margin in the game. Hilker led the Blazers with six shots.
Hoffman made 10 saves for Augsburg in 72 minutes of play, with
Katie Cheese (Jr., Shakopee, Minn.), Augsburg's starting goalkeeper last season, making four saves in relief in her first goalkeeping action of the season. Tae Ruppe (So., Forest Lake, Minn.) did not have to make a save in picking up the shutout victory for St. Benedict in goal.
Augsburg hosts St. Thomas in an MIAC game on Saturday (9/30) at 5 p.m. St. Benedict hosts Gustavus Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph, Minn.
