ST. PAUL, Minn. (9/30/00) -- Host St. Thomas got two first-half goals from Tom Hart and Peter Lefebvre and held on for a 2-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer win over visiting Augsburg Saturday.
Luis Cunha, Dan Blaisdell and Jason English had assists and Justin Hockemeyer was in net for all 90 minutes for the Toms, who improved to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC.
Augsburg (3-8 overall, 0-4 MIAC) scored just seconds before halftime but couldn't score in the second half.
Gibran Lorenzano (Jr., Cuernavaca, Mexico/St. Agnes HS) notched the goal on assists from
Andy Priesen (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) and
Jason Clark (Fr., Eagan, Minn.).
UST plays at St. Olaf Wednesday (4 p.m.), while Augsburg plays at Carleton on Wednesday (4 p.m.).
