ST. PETER, Minn. (1/12/01) -- Outshooting Augsburg College by a 47-14 margin, Gustavus Adolphus College cruised to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Auggies in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game Friday night at the Gustavus Don Roberts Rink.
Gustavus improved to 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the MIAC with the victory, while Augsburg drops to 4-7 overall and 4-5 in MIAC play. It was just the third win for Gustavus in the 10-game varsity all-time series with the Auggies.
Nicole Guimond (So., Orono, Minn.) and BreAnn Radloff (Jr., Wayzata, Minn./Orono HS) had a goal and assist apiece for the Gusties, while Laura Schultz (So., Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) also had a two-point night, with two assists.
Natalie Rosengren (Fr., Orono, Minn.) and Nikki Norton (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) had the other Gustie goals in the game.
Radloff notched the first goal of the game midway through the first period, which stood until just 48 seconds into the second frame, when
Amber Nadreau (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian HS) tied the game at 1-1 on an unassisted goal. Guimond gave the Gusties the lead to stay at the 6:43, and goals from Rosengren and Norton made the decision stand.
