Women's Soccer 10/19/01 -- Augsburg 2, Wisconsin-River Falls 1
MINNEAPOLIS (10/16/01) -- Kim Glumich (Jr., Moorhead, Minn.), assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winning goal with 19 minutes remaining, leading Augsburg College to a 2-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in a nonconference women's soccer game Friday afternoon at Ramer Field.
Glumich scored after a corner kick from Heidi Hilleren (So., Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) in the 71st minute, breaking a 1-1 tie and lifting the Auggies to a 7-7-1 overall record, matching last year's win total (7-10-1). Wisconsin-River Falls dropped to 6-8-1 overall.
River Falls scored te first goal of the game on an Amy Gilfillan tally from Selena Peterson. Jenny Martin (Fr., Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) tied the game for the Auggies with two minutes remaining in the first half, on a feed from Glumich.
Augsburg outshot River Falls by a 23-11 margin. Laura Hoffman (So., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) made four saves for the Auggies, while Apryl Jennrich made 14 saves for the Falcons.
Augsburg finishes the season with two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games on the road, its first at St. Thomas on Wednesday (10/24) at 3:30 p.m. Wisconsin-River Falls plays at Wisconsin-Oshkosh in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff game on Tuesday (10/23).
