SAN ANTONIO, Texas (11/2/01) -- Outshooting the visitors 26-1, Trinity University scored a convincing 8-0 win over Augsburg College in a nonconference men's soccer game at Trinity on Friday evening.

Wobbe Ploegsma scored two second-half goals for Trinity, one of the top teams in the nation in NCAA Division III men's soccer. Trinity is now 15-3 overall, while Augsburg drops to 5-10-1 overall.

Josh Smith had a goal and two assists in the game, while Chris Giebink had two assists. Giebink leads the team with seven assists this season, followed closely by two other players who have six.

Andrew Priesen (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) had the lone shot for Augsburg. Starting goalkeeper Nick Shill (So., Eau Claire, Wis./North HS) made 10 saves in 70 minutes of work, while Han Zeller (So., Winona, Minn.) finished out the game with two saves.

Augsburg finishes its season on Sunday (11/4) at 12 noon at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Trinity plays at Texas Lutheran to conclude its regular season on Sunday.
