ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/16/02) -- Junior Derek Vinge scored the lone goal of the game off a rebound from junior Spencer Iverson, as Hamline University claimed a 1-0 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer game Wednesday at Pat Patterson Field.

Iverson's initial shot bounced off the left post in the 86th minute and rolled out in front as Vinge drilled the ball into the net.

It was the Pipers fourth consecutive victory and second in a row in conference play for the Pipers. The Pipers (5-5, 2-3 in the MIAC) were outshot in the contest 9-4 by Augsburg (3-8-2 overall, 1-5-1 MIAC), but freshman goalkeeper Brian Lawson was again up to the challenge, stopping all nine shots.
