MINNEAPOLIS (8/30/02) -- Kristi Ofstad * (Jr., Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Stevens HS) scored on a blast along the left goalpost from Millie Suk (Fr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS), giving the Augsburg College women's soccer team all the scoring it would need en route to a 1-0 shutout of visiting Wartburg College (Iowa) in a nonconference match Friday night at Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field.

It was the first game of the season for both teams.

Augsburg outshot Wartburg by a 24-19 margin, and Auggie goalkeeper Laura Hoffman * (Jr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) made seven saves to record her eighth career shutout.

Ofstad led Augsburg's offensive attack with six shots on goal, as nine different Auggies had shots. Katie Rapp (So., Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption HS) led Wartburg with seven shots. Sarah Smart (Fr., Ames, Iowa) had 10 saves in goal for Wartburg.

Augsburg returns to soccer action as the first half of a doubleheader on Sunday (9/1), hosting Central (Iowa) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
