LA CROSSE, Wis. (9/11/02) -- John Alibrandi scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 75th minute, leading Viterbo University to a 5-3 win over Augsburg College in a nonconference men's soccer game Wednesday afternoon at Viterbo.

Augsburg, now 1-3-1 on the season, rallied from a 3-1 deficit with two goals in a five-minute span in the second half, but Viterbo got two goalsin the final 17 minutes to seal the win and improve to 1-3-1.

Hugo Quintiliano (Sr., Brasilia, Brazil/Mound-Westonka, Minn., HS) put the Auggies on the board with an unassisted goal in the 15th minute, but Viterbo came back with goals from Joey Dellenbach (So., Onalaska, Wis.) and Jake Janiszewski (Sr., La Crosse, Wis.) to take the 3-1 lead.

Mike Elcano (So., Sparks, Nev./Bishop Manogue HS) scored in the 55th minute on a feed from Aaron Reidel (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), then Riedel scored to tie the game on a pass from Jason Clark (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) five minutes later.

But Viterbo claimed the win on Alibrandi's second goal of the game, on an assist from Alex Goldson, who had two assists for the V-Hawks. Ian Blum (So., Fitchburg, Wis.) added an unassisted insurance goal in the 81st minute.

Viterbo outshot Augsburg by a 13-10 margin. Dustin Naugle (So., Elk River, Minn.) made three saves to score the win for Viterbo, while Chad Clausen (Fr., St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) made five saves in a losing effort for Augsburg.

Augsburg returns to action on Saturday (9/14) at 1 p.m., hosting the Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.) in a nonconference game at Edor Nelson Field.
