MADISON, Wis. (9/8/02) -- Aaron Reidel (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored with 10 minutes remaining in regulation time, forcing overtime as Augsburg College claimed a 2-2 tie with Edgewood College in a nonconference men's soccer game Sunday at Edgewood.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first half, but Edgewood took the lead on Matt Kleppe's (Jr., Mount Horeb, Wis.) second goal of the game with 24 minutes left in the second half. But Riedel scored his team-high second goal of the season on an assist from
Jason Clark (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) to tie the game.
Augsburg is now 1-2-1 on the season; Edgewood is 0-3-1.
Steve Gehrmann * (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS) scored his goal of the season in the 13th minute, on a feed from Clark. Kleppe tied the game three minutes later with a goal off a corner kick.
Han Zeller (Jr., Winona, Minn.) made six saves in a complete-game effort in goal for Augsburg; Kevin Olesen (So., Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's HS) made four saves for Edgewood. Edgewood outshot Augsburg by a 22-13 margin.
Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (9/11) at 4:30 p.m., playing at Viterbo (Wis.) in a nonconference match in La Crosse, Wis.
