ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (10/14/03) -- Lisa Bennett scored the lone goal of the game in the 69th minute, lifting the College of St. Benedict to a 1-0 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at St. Benedict on Tuesday afternoon.
In improving to 9-2-2 overall and 5-0-2 in MIAC play, St. Benedict outshot Augsburg by a 18-3 margin, 8-0 in the first half and 11-3 in the second half.
Augsburg drops to 8-5-1 overall and 4-4-1 in MIAC play, losing its second game in a row by shutout. In its last three games, Augsburg has been outscored by a 6-1 margin.
Bennett scored an unassisted goal past Auggie goalkeeper
Laura Hoffman (Sr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) midway through the second half. Hoffman had eight saves in the game, five in the second half.
