In a mirror of Friday's contest, the eventual winner rallied from a 3-0 deficit with five unanswered goals. On Saturday, Augsburg scored three goals in the first 23 minutes of the game, but Concordia scored five straight goals before Augsburg cut the lead with a late goal.
Both teams remain in the hunt for the five-team MIAC postseason playoffs with two conference weekends remaining. Concordia, now 11-6-1 overall and 9-4-1 in MIAC play (19 points), is in third place and has series remaining against second-place Gustavus and ninth-place Bethel; Augsburg, now 10-10-1 overall and 8-6-0 in MIAC play (16 points), is tied for fifth place and has series remaining against seventh-place St. Catherine and eighth-place St. Benedict.

Lauren Chezick (So., Hastings, Minn.) and
Laura Hoffman (Jr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS).
Chezick followed her linemate's goal with an unassisted goal at the 14:29 mark, matching Annunziato with her 20th goal of the season. Adding two assists, Chezick now has 45 points (25 assists), while Annunziato has 42 points (22 assists).
With their linemate,
Carrie Velenchenko (So., Maple Grove, Minn.), the trio is one of the top scoring lines in the nation in Division III women's hockey. The trio now has 47 of Augsburg's 73 goals this year (64.4 percent) and 108 of Augsburg's 180 total points (60.0 percent).
Chezick and Annunziato are closing in on Augsburg's single-season scoring records, all set by Angie Rieger in the 1999-2000 season. Rieger, playing in 29 games in Augsburg's national runner-up season, had 27 goals and 26 assists for 53 points. Annunziato and Chezick have played in 21 games this season.
Angie Bergeson (Fr., Red Wing, Minn.) got a goal for Augsburg's third line on Saturday, on a feed from
Calla Lundquist (Fr., Gillette, Wyo./Campbell County HS) at the 3:00 mark of the second period.
But Concordia's western connection took over the game midway through the second period, putting three goals on the board in a 5:30 span. Jacques scored a power-play goal from Kurtis and Richter at the 11:20 mark, Kurtis scored from Richter at the 12:55 mark and Kurtis put her second goal on the board, a power-play goal from Richter and Jacques, at the 16:50 mark.
Jacques completed her hat trick with two goals, both from Richter, in the third period, at the 4:16 mark and the 9:47 mark.
