RIVER FALLS, Wis. (9/14/03) -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's soccer team showed no effects of playing its second match in less than 24 hours, as it shut out visiting Augsburg College 2-0 in a nonconference tilt Sunday morning at Ramer Field.

River Falls (3-0 overall) got on the board at the 30 minute mark when Emily Rodgers scored her second goal of the season, on a header off a corner kick from Ashley Peterson.

Sarah Carlson added the insurance goal with 12 minutes left, with the assist credited to Gina Hawkins. It was the sophomore¹s fourth goal of the year and that leads the Falcons.

Falcon goalkeeper Apryl Jennrich recorded her second shutout of the season, and 13th of her career, by stopping all seven Auggie shots.

Augsburg (3-1-1 overall) goalkeeper Laura Hoffman (Sr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) saw her personal scoreless streak end at 410 minutes with the two goals allowed. The goals were the first allowed by Augsburg in its five games this season.

Emily Anderson (Fr., Hudson, Wis.) led the Auggies with three shots in the game.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action with a game at Hamline on Wednesday (9/17) at 4 p.m. Wisconsin-River Falls returns to action with a game at Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday (9/20) at 2 p.m.
