Northwestern-Roseville scores 3 unanswered goals, tops Augsburg 3-2.

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (10/5/04) -- Jeremy Nutzman scored from Tim Crenshaw in the 65th minute, providing the eventual game-winning goal for Northwestern College-Roseville, as the Eagles topped visiting Augsburg College 3-2 in a nonconference men's soccer game on Tuesday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

Augsburg built a 2-0 first-half lead, but Northwestern responded with three unanswered goals to improve to 4-7-1 overall. Augsburg drops to 7-4-1 overall.

Mark Cohn (Fr., Anoka, Minn./Blaine HS) scored 76 seconds into the game for the Auggies, on an assist from Vinnie Brooks (So., Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS). Brooks assisted again on Augsburg's second goal of the game, as Mike Elcano (Sr., Sparks, Nev./Bishop Manogue HS) notched his team-high 12th goal of the season in the 41st minute.

Three minutes later, Northwestern got on the board, as Mark Kliegle scored from Crenshaw. Andrew Young tied the game for the Eagles on a feed from Nutzman in the 60th minute, and five minutes later, Nutzman scored from Crenshaw for the eventual game-winner.

Both teams had 20 shots in the game. Augsburg's Lucas Grant (Sr., Starbuck, Minn./Minnewaska HS) made seven saves for the Auggies, while David Keller made six saves for the Eagles.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday (10/8) at 7:30 p.m., hosting Gustavus Adolphus at Edor Nelson Field. Northwestern returns to Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play on Friday at 3 p.m., with a game at Northland (Wis.).
