BOXSCORE

MINNEAPOLIS (11/20/04) -- Stacy Anderson (So., Lafayette, Calif./Marina HS) scored a goal and assisted on the three other Augsburg College goals, as the Auggies rallied from an early deficit to claim a 4-1 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game Saturday night at the Augsburg Ice Arena.

Lauren Chezick (Sr., Hastings, Minn.) scored two goals and added an assist, and Jocelyn Cookson (Jr., Edina, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson HS) had a goal and assist for the Auggies, as the Auggies' top line has now figured in 21 of Augsburg's 30 goals this season.

Augsburg remained unbeaten with the win, improving to 4-0-2 overall, 2-0-0 in MIAC play. The Auggies are off to their second-best start to a season in the 10-year history of the school's women's hockey program; Augsburg started with a 9-0-1 start to the 1998-99 season, the longest unbeaten streak (10 games) in school history (against varsity opponents only).

Concordia-Moorhead fell to 0-4-0 on the season, 0-2-0 in MIAC play.

The Cobbers scored first, as Miranda Koenig (Jr., Moorhead, Minn.) scored an unassisted goal on a steal at the 3:52 mark of the first period.

But after that goal, it was all Augsburg. The Auggies outshot Concordia 16-6 in the first period, en route to a 32-23 shot advantage in the game. Chezick notched her first marker of the game at the 8:33 mark of the period, from Anderson and Cookson.

Seven minutes into the second period, Chezick scored her second goal of the game on assists from Anderson and Brittney LeBlanc (Fr., Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS). Three minutes later, Cookson notched her fifth goal of the season on feeds from Anderson and Chezick.

At the 15:46 mark of the second period, Anderson capped the game by stealing the puck on a Concordia power play and scoring on an end-to-end, unassisted rush for her first shorthanded tally of the season.

Anderson now has 10 goals and 10 assist for 20 points, among the top scorers in the nation in Division III women's hockey.

Kristin Johnson (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn./Wayzata HS) made 28 saves for the Auggies, while Jenna Johnson (Jr., Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek HS) made 28 saves in a losing effort for Concordia.
