CROOKSTON, Minn. (11/28/04) -- Brock Anundson scored both University of Minnesota-Crookston goals, including a tally five minutes into the third period to force overtime, as the host Golden Eagles tied visiting Augsburg College 2-2 in overtime in a nonconference men's hockey game Sunday afternoon at the Crookston Civic Arena.

Danny Carlson (Fr., Roseville, Minn.) and Aaron Johnson (So., Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) scored for the Auggies, who moved to 2-4-2 on the season. Minnesota-Crookston is now 2-7-1 overall.

Minnesota-Crookston outshot Augsburg by a 38-26 margin in the game, including a 17-6 edge in the third period. Both teams had just two shots in overtime. The Golden Eagles were also hampered by going 0-for-8 on the power play, including not scoring on a power play in overtime. Augsburg was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

Carlson put the Auggies on the board early, scoring from Tyler Starke (Fr., Calgary, Alberta/Bowness HS) and Matt Jackson (So., Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS) at the 2:57 mark of the first period.

Anundson tied the game with his first goal just 34 seconds into the second period, from Patrick Knutson and Theran Bauer, but the Auggies tied it 90 seconds later, as Johnson notched his third goal on the weekend, with an assist to Critter Nagurski (So., International Falls, Minn.).

Augsburg goalie Tony Ciro (Jr., Spring Lake Park, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) claimed 36 saves to record the tie for the Auggies, while Jayden Isakson made 24 saves for the Golden Eagles.

Augsburg opens Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend with a two-game home series against Concordia-Moorhead, with both games at the Augsburg Ice Arena. Friday's (12/3) game is at 8 p.m., while Saturday's (12/4) game is at 3 p.m.
