St. Scholastica ends Augsburg winning streak with 1-0 decision.

DULUTH, Minn. (9/25/04) -- Krista Parent scored the lone goal of the game in the 54th minute, as the College of St. Scholastica claimed a 1-0 home victory over Augsburg College in a nonconference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon.

Keely Rabb and Nicole Seguin assisted on Parent's goal, as St. Scholastica improves to 8-1 on the season. The Saints won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference tournament title last season.

Augsburg broke a three-game winning streak in falling to 3-4-0 overall. In its first seven games, Augsburg has already played three defending conference regular-season or tournament champions -- Wisconsin-River Falls (1-0 loss), Grinnell (Iowa, 1-0 win) and St. Scholastica.

St. Scholastica outshot Augsburg by a 13-4 margin. Liz Osterman (Fr., Lincoln, Neb./Southeast HS) made eight saves in goal for the Auggies, while Kristin Lammi made one save for the win for the Saints.

Noreen Hogan (Fr., Moline, Ill./Alleman HS), Aili Brom-Palkowski (So., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), Mitra Rahimi (Fr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Millie Suk * (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had Augsburg's shots.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday (9/29) at 7:30 p.m., hosting St. Thomas at Edor Nelson Field.
