St. Thomas scores 4-1 home win over Augsburg in MIAC play

ST. PAUL, Minn. (9/28/04) -- Freshman Nick Radigan scored goals in the seventh and 27th minutes, as the University of St. Thomas men's soccer team scored a 4-1 victory over visiting Augsburg College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Tuesday on the Tommies' field.

Freshman Max Weber assisted on both Radigan goals for UST (6-2-1 overall, 2-2 MIAC). The Toms are 6-1 at home this season.

Augsburg (6-3-1 overall, 1-2-1 MIAC) averted a shutout as freshman Mark Cohn (Fr., Anoka, Minn./Blaine HS) scored in the 90th minute off a corner kick from Nick Nelson (Fr., Northfield, Minn.).

The Toms outshot the Auggies 16-6 and had an 8-0 edge in first-half corner kicks.

Augsburg hosts Bethany Lutheran (Minn.) in nonconference play on Thursday (9/30) at 7:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. St. Thomas plays the University of Mary Saturday (10/2) in Huron, S.D., and plays at Buena Vista Sunday (10/3) in Storm Lake, Iowa.
