BOXSCORE

MINNEAPOLIS (10/5/05) -- Augsburg College's Emily Anderson * (Jr., Hudson, Wis.) extended her scoring streak to nine straight games with a goal in the 21st minute, but the College of St. Catherine's Jenna Undesser (Fr., Shakopee, Minn.) tied the game with a goal in the 87th minute, as the teams played to a 1-1 overtime tie in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game on Wednesday night at Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field.

With the draw, Augsburg moves to 6-0-4 overall, 3-0-2 in MIAC play, continuing its best unbeaten streak to start a season in the history of the women's soccer program, now at 10 games. The previous best unbeaten start to a season was five games (4-0-1) in the 1997 season. St. Catherine is now 5-4-1 overall, 1-3-1 in MIAC play. It was Augsburg's fifth overtime contest of the season.

Anderson put the Auggies ahead early, completing a three-way passing play from Millie Suk * (Sr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) and Noreen Hogan (So., Moline, Ill./Alleman HS) with a shot from the left side of the penalty box.

Anderson has scored all of Augsburg's goals in conference play -- seven -- and has a five-game goal-scoring streak. She has scored either a goal or assist in the last nine games in a row for the Auggies.

The Auggies had several other chances to score in the first half, but two goals were disallowed by offside calls against the Auggies. Augsburg was whistled four times for offside in the game.

St. Catherine tied the game with 3:49 left in regulation time on a scramble in front of the net after a corner kick. Following the corner kick, the ball deflected off several players in front of the net, with Halie Vosler (Jr., Spearfish, S.D.) able to direct it to Undesser in front of an open net. Undesser then slammed it home to tie the game and force overtime.

St. Catherine goalkeeper Danielle Wies (Fr., White Bear Lake, Minn./Mahtomedi HS) made seven saves, while Augsburg goalkeeper Maggie DeGroot (Fr., Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) had five saves.
