St. John's leads from start to finish in 75-59 win over Augsburg.

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (1/16/06) -- Paul Henrichs claimed a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots and four assists, leading St. John's University to a 59-75 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball contest Monday evening at Sexton Arena.

Henrichs scored 10 of his 19 points in the first half, as the Johnnies jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and never looked back. St. John's never trailed in the game in improving to 8-6 overall, 6-3 in MIAC play.

Augsburg (3-11 overall, 2-7 MIAC) was led by a career-high 27 points from Justin Koslowski (So., Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman HS). The Auggies lost their fourth straight game and seventh in their last eight starts.

After St. John's jumped out to the early 10-1 advantage, Augsburg cut the lead to 16-13 behind nine points from Kozlowski, but the Johnnies used an 11-0 run to secure the lead for good. St. John's led 31-23 at halftime and pulled away to lead by as many as 18 points in the second half.

St. John's shot 58.3 percent (28-of-48) from the field, including hitting 63.6 percent (14-of-22) in the second half. Meanwhile, Augsburg was limited to just 33.3 percent (22-of-66) shooting from the field, including hitting just 25.8 percent (8-of-31) in the first half.

Seventeen Johnnies saw game action, and 11 different Johnnies scored. Ryan Lieser had 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Craig Schaefer had 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots, and Tim Veurink scored nine points with two assists, hitting 4-of-4 from the field.

Kozlowski hit five 3-pointers for the Auggies, adding two assists. Dan Graf (Jr., Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) had 10 points with five rebounds for the Auggies, and Devin Rose (So., Granton, Wis.) had five points.

Both teams return to action on Wednesday (1/18) at 7:30 p.m., with Augsburg hosting Macalester and St. John's playing at Concordia-Moorhead.
