Prior to that string, the longest winning streak was the 1936-37 squad that won 12 in a row after starting the season with losses to Minnesota, Northwestern and Iowa. The 1932-33 and 1929-30 teams also won 12 straight, while the 1923-24 team was a perfect 14-0 on the season. The 1930-31 and 1931-32 squads won 11 consecutive games.

Justin Kozlowski (So., Wausau, Wis./Wausau Newman HS) paced Augsburg (3-16 overall, 2-12 MIAC) with 12 points. The Auggies shot only 37 percent from the floor, including 4-for-19 from three-point range. Darren Nelson (So., Richfield, Minn.) scored eight points and Aaron Benesh (Sr., Oconto, Wis.) scored seven points.

Carleton started slow, trailing 15-10 before embarking on a 24-6 run to eventually lead 36-24 at the break. The Knights pushed the lead to 15 out of the break on a Forkrud inside basket and Brian Sharkey (Sr., Bow, N.H./St. PaulÂ's School) 3-pointer. The lead eventually grew to 16 before the Auggies rallied, cutting it to six, 50-44, on the strength of a 16-6 spurt as the Knights went scoreless for four minutes.

The Knights responded by closing the game on a 26-5 run, holding the Auggies to two field goals over the final 12 minutes.

The Knights outrebounded the Auggies 32-22 and held a 14-6 edge in points off turnovers.

Carleton returns to action on Wednesday (2/1), playing a huge game at Gustavus at 7:30 p.m. The Auggies host St. Thomas on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
