ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (10/18/06) -- Teri Knapper collected 15 kills and three blocks, while Emma Jaynes had 11 kills, 14 digs and four blocks (one solo), leading the College of St. Benedict to a three-game sweep of visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match Wednesday night at Claire Lynch Hall. St. Benedict (13-9 overall, 5-3 MIAC) won by scores of 30-19, 30-19, 30-24.

Augsburg (9-16 overall, 1-8 MIAC) was paced by a 10-kill effort by Barbara Simmons (Fr., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS). Dani Boner (So., Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) had nine kills for the Auggies.

Julie Jenkins (So., Edina, Minn.) collected 11 assists and 11 digs, while Shanna Reed (Fr., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 15 assists and six digs. Haley Bower (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) had 22 digs for the Auggies.

Both teams return to action with road matches on Friday (10/20) at 7 p.m. Augsburg plays at Macalester, while St. Benedict plays at St. Olaf.
