STEVENS POINT, Wis. (11/21/06) -- Jesse Suter had two goals and added an assist, while Katy Lankey, Sarah Phillips and Jessica Edward had a goal and assist apiece, as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point scored an 8-2 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a nonconference women's hockey game at the Ice Hawks Arena.

The Pointers, ranked No. 3 in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online (www.uscho.com) Division III national poll, improved to 6-1-0 overall. Augsburg falls to 0-3-2 overall.

Jackie Keller * (Jr., Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City West HS) and Caryn Quist (So., St. Cloud, Minn./Cathedral HS) scored unassisted goals for the Auggies, Keller on a power-play tally at the 19:58 mark of the second period and Quist at the 4:36 mark of the third.

Wisconsin-Stevens Point scored three goals in the first period and four in the third period to pull away to the victory, outshooting the Auggies by a 43-18 margin in the contest. Ten different Pointers figured in the scoring.

Jessie Rombough (Fr., Dale, Wis./New London HS), making her collegiate debut in goal for Augsburg, collected 35 saves in the game. Amy Statz made five saves in the first period for the Pointers to score the win, with Ann Hulme collecting 11 saves in relief.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play after the Thanksgiving break with a two-game series against St. Olaf. Augsburg hosts the Oles on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:05 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena, and travels to Northfield, Minn., to face the Oles on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.
