Women's Basketball 11/25/06 -- Wisconsin-River Falls 80, Augsburg 40

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (11/25/06) -- Traci Reimann scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead the University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's basketball team to an 80-40 win over Augsburg College on Saturday afternoon at the Karges Center.
The Falcons (2-0 overall) jumped out to a 47-23 halftime lead. UWRF went on a 12-0 run early in the first half and never trailed in the game.
Augsburg (0-1 overall) was led by
Kristina Lurken * (Jr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS), who scored 15 points, and
Megan Krumrie (So., Elk Mound, Wis.), who scored 10.
Jacci Mattern (So., Lakeville, Minn.),
Katie LaGrave * (Jr., Okinawa, Japan/Kadena HS) and Lurken all had four rebounds.
Reimann shot 10-of-11 from the field to lead UWRF. Megan Lindman scored 12 points and had five rebounds. Kelsie Flanscha added 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks for the Falcons. Kim Sorenson was the fourth Falcon to score in double figures -- she scored 10.
UWRF shot 32-of-66 (.485) from the field, including 6-of-21 (.286) from three-point range. The Auggies shot 13-of-42 (.310) from the field, including 1-of-3 (.333) from behind the arc. Augsburg was 13-of-22 (.591) from the line. UWRF had a 42-29 advantage in rebounds.
The Falcons, now 2-0 overall, will host St. Thomas at 3 p.m. on Sunday (11/26) at the Karges Center. Augsburg opens Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a home game against Carleton on Wednesday (11/29) at 6 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
