BOXSCORE

GREEN BAY, Wis. (11/3/06) -- Kyle Jones registered his 13th career shutout with St. Norbert College's 6-0 win over Augsburg College in a nonconference men's hockey game at the Cornerstone Community Center on Friday night. The Green Knights, ranked second in the NCAA Division III, improved to 3-0-1 on the season. Augsburg dropped its season opener.

Jones made 15 saves to notch the shutout, leaving him one short of former St. John's University goaltender Adam Hanna's NCAA Division III career record of 14. Jones had five shutouts his freshman year and seven as a sophomore last season.

Andy Kent (So., Lakeville, Minn.) made 23 saves for Augsburg in the first two periods, while Adam Hendel (Jr., Bay City, Wis./Red Wing (Minn.) HS) made 11 saves finishing up. St. Norbert held a 40-15 shots-on-goal advantage.

St. Norbert wasted little time jumping out in front, getting the early lead 4 minutes 14 seconds into the game on a Ryan Petersen goal from the corner. Jeff Hazelwood scored a power-play goal later in the first period for a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Green Knights salted the game away in the third period, getting goals from Shane Wheeler, Peter Fylling and Matt Boyd -- all freshmen. Fylling's marker was his first collegiate goal. Hazelwood capped off the scoring with another power-play goal midway through the third period.

Andrew Derton and Marc Belanger had two assists each for St. Norbert, while Wheeler, Fylling and Boyd also had assists to give them each a multi-point night
