Augsburg is now 4-5-4 overall, extending its unbeaten streak to five straight games (2-0-3). Wisconsin-Stevens Point is now 4-6-2 overall.

The victory broke a three-game Augsburg losing streak to the Pointers, and was the first victory for Augsburg over Wisconsin-Stevens Point since the 2000-01 season. The all-time series between the Auggies and Pointers is now tied at 4-4-1.

For Augsburg, a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference school, the win marked its first shutout of a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association opponent since a 1-0 forfeit victory over Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Dec. 9, 2000 (Augsburg led 11-1 at the time of the forfeit, but officially, the forfeit score is 1-0). The win was just the second-ever on-the-ice shutout for Augsburg over an NCHA foe (the last was a 6-0 win over Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1981-82), and the win tied Augsburg's largest-ever margin of victory over an NCHA opponent (a 9-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior in the 1981-82 season). The NCHA has been in existence since the 1980-81 season.

Johnson tied a single-game school record for points with his seven-point (two goals, five assists) effort, matching an effort by Mike Erickson on Nov. 27, 1980 against Bethel. Johnson also reached a career milestone on Saturday by surpassing the 100-point mark. Last year's NCAA Division III national leader in both assists and total points, Johnson now has 104 points (29 goals, 75 assists) in his career -- 62 games over the last three seasons at Augsburg and five games his freshman year at Michigan Tech (no scoring).

Augsburg outshot Wisconsin-Stevens Point by a 31-25 margin, with Kent recording his second straight shutout -- and second of his collegiate career -- after blanking Bethel in a 0-0 tie last Saturday. Kent now has a shutout streak of 181:25, covering parts of three games.
