MINNEAPOLIS (10/17/07) -- Laura Harms (Jr., Little Falls, Minn.) had 19 kills, hitting .441 (four errors in 34 attempts), with four blocks (one solo) and two service aces, leading the Augsburg College volleyball team to a three-game sweep of host North Central University in a nonconference match on Wednesday afternoon at CLC Gymnasium.

Augsburg (10-15 overall) topped North Central (14-15 overall) by scores of 30-12, 30-15, 30-24 in a match that lasted just 72 minutes. The Auggies broke a three-match losing streak with the nonconference victory.

Julie Jenkins (Jr., Edina, Minn.) hit .444 (one error in 18 attacks) with nine kills and three blocks for the Auggies, while Kristina Lurken (Sr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had six kills and Breann Woelfel (So., Annandale, Minn.) had five kills and a solo block. Amanda Rueb (Jr., Plymouth, Minn./West Lutheran HS) had four kills.

Denielle Johnson (Fr., Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) had 23 assists and seven digs for the Auggies, while Shanna Reed (So., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 10 assists. Haley Bower (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) had 15 digs and Jessica Hilk (Fr., Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) had 18 digs and five service aces. Dani Tanaka (So., Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had 11 digs and two service aces.

Amanda Matson (So., Milwaukee, Wis.) led North Central with 11 kills and 11 digs. Jenna Moody (Jr., Gothenburg, Neb.) had five kills, nine digs and three blocks (two solo), while Emily Matson (Jr., Milwaukee, Wis.) had 18 assists, nine digs and a block. Keelie Solomon (So., Harve, Mont.) had 17 digs.

Augsburg has two key Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches this weekend, hosting St. Mary's on Friday (10/19) at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall and playing at Bethel on Saturday (10/20) at 3 p.m. North Central competes at the St. Scholastica Triangular next Wednesday (10/24) at 6 p.m.
