MINNEAPOLIS (12/12/07) -- Augsburg College scored the first goal of the game just 41 seconds into play, but the University of Wisconsin-River Falls scored the next eight goals, as the Falcons claimed an 8-1 victory over the Auggies in a nonconference women's hockey game Wednesday night at UWRF's Hunt Arena.

Tiffany Magnuson (JR, Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy HS) scored the Auggies' (1-10-0 overall) lone goal of the game, on an assist from Jackie Keller * (SR, Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City West HS) early in the first period.

But the Falcons (5-4-0 overall) pulled away, outshooting the Auggies by a 44-15 margin. Ashly Berner and Kelly Jensen scored two goals apiece, with Jessica Thompson, Cassie LeBlanc, Jaime Briski and Brittany Erickson adding goals.

Sara Hammann (FY, Grand Rapids, Minn.) started in goal for the Auggies, making five saves in one period. Toni Menth (SO, Buffalo, Minn.) relieved her and claimed 31 saves in goal. Menth has recorded 30-plus saves in nine of Augsburg's 11 games this season, including the last seven games in a row. Cassi Campbell collected 14 saves for the Falcons.

Augsburg is now off for the holiday break and will return to action with a three-game, 10-day trip to Europe from Jan. 3-12.
