EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (12/12/08) -- Claiming a 41-17 advantage in shots-on-goal, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire claimed a 3-0 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a nonconference men's hockey game on Friday night at the Hobbs Ice Center.
John Kearns scored for the Blugolds (8-4-0) with seven seconds left in the first period, and Nic Weight and Sean Garrity scored third-period goals for the Blugolds, with Garrity's goal an empty-netter with 46 seconds left.
Andrew Kent (SR, Lakeville, Minn.) stopped 38 shots for Augsburg.
The Auggies complete their Wisconsin road trip on Saturday (12/13) at 7 p.m. with a game at Wisconsin-River Falls.
