Men's Hockey 12/13/08 -- Wisconsin-River Falls 3, Augsburg 0
RIVER FALLS, Wis. (12/13/08) -- Jamie Ruff scored two goals, including an empty-net goal in the final minute, as the University of Wisconsin-River Falls claimed a 3-0 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a nonconference men's hockey game on Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
Tyler Czuba scored in the first period for the Falcons (5-7-1 overall), and Ruff scored a power-play goal in the second period and capped the scoring with an empty-net goal at the 19:03 mark of the third period.
Augsburg (2-7-0) was outshot by a 15-5 margin in the first period, but outshot the Falcons by a 34-29 margin the rest of the way. Andrew Kent (SR, Lakeville, Minn.) stopped 41 shots for Augsburg.
The Auggies are idle for the holiday break and return to action on Jan. 2-3 at the Pathfinder Bank Oswego Holiday Classic in Oswego, N.Y.
