St. Catherine completes sweep with 5-1 win over Augsburg.

MINNEAPOLIS (12/5/08) -- Kelsey Abrahamson recorded a three-goal hat trick, leading the College of St. Catherine to its second straight 5-1 victory over Augsburg College, completing a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey series sweep on Saturday night at the University of Minnesota's Ridder Arena.

Cassie Rooney and Jessica Kniefel also scored for the Wildcats (4-4-1 overall, 2-2-0 MIAC), who outshot Augsburg by a 55-15 margin.

Augsburg's (0-8-0 overall, 0-6-0 MIAC) lone goal came from Andrea Toft (JR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS), who scored a power-play goal from Tiffany Magnuson (SR, Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy HS) at the 6:17 mark of the first period to open the scoring.

Grace Edgar (SO, Plano, Texas/Plano West HS) collected 50 saves in goal in her second start for the Auggies.

Augsburg is now idle for the holiday break until Jan. 4, when it travels to face Lake Forest (Ill.) at 3 p.m.
