Women's hockey drops 5-0 decision

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Claiming a 35-17 advantage in shots on goal, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls scored a 5-0 win over visiting Augsburg College in a nonconference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Hunt Arena.

Katie Flanagan scored two goals and 12 different players figured in the scoring for the Falcons (2-0-0 overall), ranked No. 7 in the U.S. College Hockey Online Division III national poll.

Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) stopped 30 shots in goal for Augsburg (0-2-0 overall).

The Falcons outshot the Auggies by a 27-12 margin in the first two periods, building a 4-0 lead. Augsburg had five shots to Wisconsin-River Falls' eight in the final period.

Augsburg has a nonconference series against Lake Forest (Ill.) next Saturday and Sunday (11/14-15), with both games at 2:05 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
