ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Scoring three goals in a 3:38 span early in the third period, the Augsburg College women's hockey team scored a 3-3, overtime tie with the College of St. Benedict in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday night at the Municipal Athletic Complex.

Trailing 2-0 entering the third period, Augsburg (0-6-2 overall, 0-2-2 MIAC) scored three goals in a 3:38 span -- an unassisted goal by Jenna Knudtson (JR, Austin, Minn.) at the 2:21 mark, a goal from Jess Olson (SR, Delano, Minn./Wayzata HS) and a goal from Whitney Restemayer (SR, Bemidji, Minn.) at the 5:59 mark to take the lead.

But St. Benedict (1-4-2 overall, 0-2-2 MIAC) tied the game just 41 seconds after Restemayer's goal, as Rachel Welz (SO, Oconomowoc, Wis.) scored. Sarah Williams (FY, Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored in the first period and Andrea Parsons (SO, Buffalo, Minn.) scored in the second period for the Blazers.

Augsburg goalie Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) had 35 saves, while Abbie Helminen (JR, Brighton, Mich.) had 29 saves in goal for St. Benedict.

The teams claimed their second straight tie, after playing to a 2-2 draw on Friday night.

Augsburg returns to MIAC play next weekend with a two-game series against St. Thomas. Saturday's (12/12) game is at 1:45 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena, and Sunday's (12/13) game is at 2 p.m. at the St. Thomas Arena in Mendota Heights, Minn.
