Auggies score 1-1 draw at UW-La Crosse

BOXSCORE

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Lacey Hoover (JR, Duluth, Minn./Central HS) claimed her third goal in as many games, a goal in the 27th minute as Augsburg College scored a 1-1, two-overtime draw at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in a nonconference women's soccer game on Sunday afternoon.

Wisconsin-La Crosse (1-0-1) outshot Augsburg (1-0-2) by a 33-13 margin, but Auggie goalkeeper Diana Bocklund (FY, Mahtomedi, Minn.), came up big again. Bocklund, who has played every minute in goal for the Auggies so far this season, recorded a 15-save effort to enable the Auggies to remain unbeaten.

Hoover put the Auggies on the scoreboard with a goal at the 27:00 mark, assisted by Laurie Barger (FY, Monticello, Minn.). But the Eagles tied the game in the 68th minute, as Heidi Hager scored from Laura Jacobson and Lindsay Wilde.

Hoover had four shots for the Auggies, while Barger and Courtney Barthel (FY, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) had three shots apiece. Wisconsin-La Crosse goalkeeper Sagan Pizzingrilli had six saves in goal.

Augsburg opens the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday (9/9) at 7:30 p.m., hosting Wisconsin-Eau Claire at Edor Nelson Field.
