EAU CLAIRE, Wis. --
Whitney Restemayer (SR, Bemidji, Minn.) and
Sara Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) scored goals for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped an 8-2 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a nonconference women's hockey game on Wednesday evening at the Hobbs Ice Center.
Kristin Faber scored four goals, while Dani Kerr, Christine Dickinson, Shannon Nelson and Rita Simones scored goals for Wisconsin-Eau Claire (9-5-1 overall), which outshot visiting Augsburg (1-10-2 overall) by a 62-15 margin.
Toft scored from Restemayer for the Auggies at the 15:54 mark of the second period, and Restemayer scored a power-play goal from
Kali Holst (SO, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) at the 14:13 mark of the third period.
Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) claimed 54 saves in goal for the Auggies, marking the fourth time she has collected 50 saves or more in a game this season. Menth has had 35 saves or more in eight of her 12 games this year. Nicole Lence had 13 saves in goal for Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Augsburg is idle this weekend and returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Jan. 22-23 with a home series against Concordia-Moorhead at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
