ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Shannon Renne (JR, Nicollet, Minn.) led Augsburg with 11 points, posting her fourth consecutive double digit game, but it wasn't enough as second half shooting woes led to an 80-48 loss to St. Catherine University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the Butler Center.
Augsburg (3-13 overall, 3-10 MIAC) was led by Renne, who finished with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists. Also scoring in double figures for the Auggies was Brittany Dyshaw (FY, Eagan, Minn.), who finished with 10 points, four assists and a game-high five steals. Tracee Schrank (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area HS) led Augsburg on the boards with seven rebounds and added seven points and an assist.
St. Catherine (7-9 overall, 6-7 MIAC) had four players finish in duble figures, led by Laura Kalbfell, who finished with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Auggies kept pace with St. Kate's in the first half and found themselves up by two with 4:55 left in the half. The Wildcats were able to convert on their final two possessions and took a 39-31 lead into the locker room at the intermission. Augsburg struggled to convert offensively in the second half as St. Kate's pulled away, claimming an 80-48 win over the Auggies.
Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (1/27) when it travels to Concordia-St. Paul to take on MIAC rival St. Thomas.
