MINNEAPOLIS -- Outshooting host Augsburg College by a 44-26 margin, the Concordia College-Moorhead women's hockey team completed a series sweep of the Auggies with a 6-1 victory in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
Andrea Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn.Jefferson HS) score the lone goal of the game for Augsburg (1-12-2 overall, 1-5-2 MIAC), a power-play marker from
Kali Holst (SO, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) at the 8:26 mark of the third period.
Katelyn Dold (SO, St. Cloud, Minn./Tech HS) scored the first two goals of the game and added an assist for Concordia (9-6-0 overall, 4-4-0 MIAC). Goalie Maddie Haroldson (SR, Sartell, Minn.) had 25 saves in a winning effort for the Cobbers.
The Cobbers scored three goals in a 3:05 span midway through the first period, with Dold scoring at the 9:14 mark from Emily Sell (JR, Williston, N.D.) and adding an unassisted goal at the 11:20 mark. Savanna Sauvageau (FY, Fargo, N.D./South HS) scored at the 12:19.
Concordia added goals from Kit Hollway (SO, Maple Grove, Minn.), Macy Leland (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) and Ali Nelson (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) to complete the scoring.
Augsburg goalie
Toni Menth (FY, Buffalo, Minn.) collected 10 saves in the first period before being relieved by
Grace Edgar (JR, Plano, Texas/Plano West HS), who had 28 saves.
Both teams return to MIAC play next weekend, as Augsburg faces Hamline and Concordia faces St. Benedict.
