MINNEAPOLIS -- Nick Guran (SO, McHenry, Ill./McHenry East HS) collected his first collegiate hat trick, and Joel Sauer (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) scored two goals, including the game-winner 48 seconds into overtime, as Augsburg College won its sixth straight game with a 5-4 triumph over the University of Wisconsin-Stout in a nonconference men's hockey contest Friday night at the Augsburg Ice Arena.

Guran added an assist to his three-goal output for a four-point night for Augsburg (8-3-1 overall), which extended its unbeaten streak to seven straight games (6-0-1). Guran scored the Auggies' first goal just 35 seconds into the first period, and then scored two goals in the final 4:25 of regulation time -- including an extra-attacker goal with 14 seconds remaining -- to tie the game at 4-4.

Meanwhile, Sauer added an assist for a three-point night, as he scored the game-winning goal 48 seconds into overtime on an assist from Chris Johnson (SR, Verona, Wis./Madison Memorial HS).

For Wisconsin-Stout (6-6-3 overall), an NCAA Division III national playoff semifinalist last season, Joel Gaulrapp (SR, Owatonna, Minn.) scored two goals, including a shorthanded, unassisted goal in the second period. Brandon Larson (FY, New Richmond, Wis.) and Danny Ryan Jr. (JR, Niles, Ill.) had the other Blue Devil goals.

Augsburg took a 2-1 lead after the first period, but Wisconsin-Stout dominated the second frame, outshooting the Auggies by a 10-2 margin and taking a 3-2 lead into the locker room. But Augsburg outshot Wisconsin-Stout by an 18-6 margin in the final period to tie the game.

After giving up a goal to give the Blue Devils a 4-2 lead, Guran scored an unassisted goal at the 15:35 mark, then scored from Sauer and Hines at the 19:46 mark to tie the game.

Both teams had 31 shots-on-goal in the game. Justin Lochner (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 27 saves, while Nick Hopper (FY, Culver City, Calif.) had 26 saves for the Blue Devils.
